Day 6: The Impact of Teamwork

Day #6 Team Work- The Impact of Teamwork
To be successful in this business you HAVE to be a team player right!? Rank advancements will only get you so far before you have to start doing things for your team! Yes this is an individual business but to get to the top you HAVE to have teamwork.
Teamwork not only allows a person to do what he couldn’t otherwise do, it also has a compounding affect. Working together with your team towards a common goal will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.
Today we are going to talk about why teamwork is so IMPORTANT!
1)    It divides effort and multiplies effect. Umm what!? Ok I’ll break it down. This business is not a ME business. If we focus solely on ourselves we will get nowhere! Previously we have talked about setting goals as a team. Well to reach those goals you have to divide the work and brainstorm together. How are you going to get the other members on your team motivated? How are you going to reach that Elite rank!?

By working together. It’s not always going to be easy in the beginning. You are going to all have to give and take. I suggest creating your DREAM TEAM, those coaches on your team who really shine. Have weekly ZOOM chats with them to bounce ideas off of one another and to really get your team headed in the direction you want it to go.

2)    Talent wins games, but teamwork wins Championships.  One person seeking glory doesn’t accomplish much; everything we’ve done has been the result of working together to meet common goals. Do you think Lindsey Matway built the Bombshell Dynasty all on her own!? No way! She had help, she used resources, she bounced ideas off of others, and she created a vision with her team members of where they wanted the Dynasty to be! Guess what they were Number 1 last year! When they announced her as top coach, her personally sponsored coaches were up on stage with her!  The essence of leadership is the ability to inspire others to work as a team and to stretch to a common objective.

3)    Team work is Not about YOU! Let me say it again, team work is not about YOU! Melanie Mitro the number 1 coach of Beachbody right now, grew her business crazy fast! How?! Because she realized this business wasn’t about her. She knew she wanted to help others and saw their potential. She woke up every single day asking herself how she could help her coaches. She succeeded because she realized there was no I in team.

All great teams are the result of their players making decisions based on what’s best for the rest of the team. This is true in all aspects of teamwork.

4)    Great teams create community
Great teams create environments where relationships grow and teammates become connected. When I went to Summit this past year I had never met my coach or any of the other coaches on my team. It was so exciting, and once we were together it seemed like we had been life long friends. There was no awkwardness or sense of being with strangers. It just worked. That’s what you want for your team. You want to create a safe place, a sense of family. You want to make sure that your team isn’t just all business all the time. Create and grow relationships. I feel this is the MOST important aspect to team work.
5)    Last Adding value to others adds value to you

You may find people who will join your team just for personal benefits. They may not have the same goals that you do. If you didn’t catch it before they signed up, try and show them the way. Make sure everyone in your team knows that every single one of the is a star. None of them are in a supporting cast role. If you have a desire to succeed, then live by these 4 simple words, ADD VALUE TO OTHERS. Isn’t that what this business is all about?! Adding value to others.

Today I want you to sit down and figure out how you are going to implement teamwork!? Are you going to set up Zoom Calls!? Are you going to design a challenge group where everyone pitches in!? How are you going to ensure that your team is COHESIVE?!
